If you've visited Vegas' site before, you know she loves to get outside once in a while. She soaks up the sunlight, sniffs at things, meows loudly and follows us around. She's only allowed outside on our back patio which is walled and does not allow Vegas to go running away from us. Join Vegas on her most recent outside adventure!
When Vegas wants to go outside, she'll stand at the screen door and meow and meow. It's unlike any meow (voice) we've ever heard before. It's very demanding and we usually let her go out just to get her to be quiet!

When we do let her out, she stands around and looks at the world. (I think she's looking for something to get in to.) She squints her eyes until there is almost no pupil and looks into the bright sky. She looks so clean in the sun and her hair gets hot really fast.
After she pokes around for a bit, she'll often lay down on the concrete and stretch and roll around - meowing the whole time, of course.
While roaming the patio, Vegas discovered some plant leaves sticking through the lattice on the patio. (The plants were on the other side of the lattice.) They must have smelled good to Vegas because she stuck her arm through the lattice and tried to grab a leaf.

When she got the leaf close enough to her, she put her face right up to the lattice and tried to eat the leaf!
Vegas is a very tenacious cat and she eventually got her leaf through the lattice and chewed on the end. I never knew Vegas liked grass! This whole adventure is what lead to the cat grass tale.
