The Stereo Cabinet
We bought an old 1970's stereo from a thrift store for $10. Because we don't use it much, we decided to remove the lower speakers and make it a sleeping place for Vegas. The right speaker (as you can see) had an unusual cutout. We left it in place for aesthetic reasons.

Getting the stereo in shape for Vegas was a task. I had to fill-in the area below the electric turntable with wood so Vegas wouldn't be near any electrical wires. We always keep the stereo unplugged, but it's better to be safe than sorry.

The inside of the cabinet was basically hollow. I added a new backing, floor, and repainted the entire interior of the cabinet with flat black water-based paint.

I left the upper speakers intact. The stereo still works, and now serves two functions.
